Lifesum (www.lifesum.com), the leading health and fitness app, has partnered with theoretical physicist Dr. Matt Caplan, to celebrate ten of the most iconic characters in videogame history by analyzing their exercise and dietary habits.
Jumping, shooting, kicking (and eating) their way through various legendary game-worlds, these characters come in all shapes, sizes, and species. Lifesum’s experts have drawn on in-app data and their nutritional knowledge, and Dr. Caplan’s expertise, to explore how videogame characters’ fitness and food compares to that of the gamers that control them.
Physicist Dr. Matt Caplan, author of science blog, Quarks & Coffee (www.quarksandcoffee.com), comments: “Maybe it’s a good thing that videogames break the laws of physics. If their characters had to count calories and go to the gym, then every game would just be the Sims.”
Frida Harju, nutritionist at Lifesum, comments: “E3 is a huge celebration of the incredible imagination and enthusiasm of videogame creators and players alike. Given that we normally help regular humans to track their food and fitness, we thought it would be a lot of fun to apply our knowledge of nutritional science, and Dr. Caplan’s understanding of physics, to some of gaming’s most legendary heroes. The results, we hope you agree, were very entertaining.”
And so, without further ado:
