R.I.P Tom Petty

Yesterday there was a lot of news circulating Twitter that Tom Petty might be dead, last night this “might be news” was confirmed. Tom Petty, singer, songwriter, musician, multi instrumentalist and record producer died at age 66 of cardiac arrest as stated by his longtime manager.

A few of his hit songs include but are not limited to “Free Fallin'” “You Don’t Know How it Feels” and “I won’t Back Down”. Which most come from his first album released in 1989 called Full Moon Fever. Tom Petty was heavily influenced by all the music he grew up listening to like Bob Dylan, The Byrds, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones to name a few. Tom Petty was also in a music group called Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers from 1976 featuring hits like “American Girl” “Mary Jane’s Last Dance” and “Learning to Fly”.

If you really have no idea who Tom Petty or Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers were then go ask some of your old relatives (maybe your dad) to play some of his hits for you! Or you can just explore on your own and listen through spotify, itunes or whatever streaming devices you use! Yesterday 2017 took another amazing artist from us, rest in peace Tom Petty.
