Carolina Panthers owner Jerry Richardson, who is being investigated for alleged workplace misconduct, recently announced that he will be selling the team after the 2018 season is over. That’s right, the Carolina Panthers will be up for grabs and one of your favorite hip-hop moguls just might take a chance. Diddy has already mentioned that he has a great interest in purchasing the team as well as Colin Kaepernick, who wants dibs on the ownership and NBA MVP Steph Curry, who’s a huge Panthers fan.
Sources have already said that Diddy and Colin met with potential investors in Carolina for the Panther’s bid. Recently on Twitter, Diddy tweeted, “There are no majority African American NFL owners. Let’s make history.” Forbes values the Panthers at $2.3 billion, meaning Diddy will likely partner up with other investors to buy this team.
Although this is not the first hip-hop star to invest in a franchise like this one, could this be the start of a new era? We’ll have to wait and see. For updates on Diddy’s potential investment, follow him on Twitter @Diddy
