J.Cole announced that he is working on a Revenge of the Dreamers III, and fans everywhere are anticipating the third release of a compilation album made up of artists signed under Dreamville Records.
So far, artists including Bas, Cozz, EarthGang, J.I.D, and Ari Lennox have all posted a flyer that has their name on it, with the words “Your presence and participation is requested for the recording sessions of the upcoming compilation album Revenge of the Dreamers III”.
The first compilation album was released back in 2014 and featured mainly J.Cole, as well as Bas, Omen, and Treasure Davis.
Founded in 2007, Dreamville Records was a place for J.Cole to split from his original contract with Roc Nation. Cole finds it very important to be more involved in the artists that sign to his label.
“He is visible, vocal, and active in pushing his signees,” according to djbooth.net, “He appears on their songs, he takes them on tour, it’s the kind of promotion and attention that Cole didn’t receive from his own label head.”
Revenge of the Dreamers is a unique project that brings together artists at the same record label to creatively make something special. The sessions are taking place in Atlanta from Sunday to January 16. Other artists featured on the album are Zeke, Christo, and Reason. The release date has yet to be announced.
