Virgil Abloh’s Louis Vuitton Spring-Summer 2019 collection is set to make its big American debut. Starting January 10, Abloh’s collection is going to be showcased at Chrome Hearts flagship store located in New York.
The pop-up will feature only select items from the full collection before they are sent to Louis Vuitton stores all over the world. The collection itself is inspired by the classic film The Wizard of Oz. Many pieces of the collection include the character, such as a fully floral printed windbreaker with Dorothy lying in the roses.
The collection debuted at the Louis Vuitton Spring-Summer Fashion Show this past summer, and kept with the cinematic theme. The runway a long strip of rainbow, and Abloh himself even sported a t-shirt with a yellow-brick road on it to symbolize his journey as an artist.
It is still unclear how the pop-up will look, but it wouldn’t be shocking to see plenty of Oz-related props and decorations. The collections original retail debut was in Mayfair, London at another pop-up store. Using light prisms as the main muse, the shop included wild forests and other decorations inspired by scenes from The Wizard of Oz. Guests even entered the exhibit by following a yellow-brick road.
The Chrome Hearts flagship store is located at 755 Washington Street, New York.
