Get ready for wisdom, healing and good old-fashioned entertainment of biblical proportions as “The Book Of John Gray,” OWN’s breakout hit, opens it’s mid-season premiere with a bang. Gray is ready to go “Into The Storm” as the latest episode suggests this week.
Gray has experienced many triumphs, including becoming Associate Pastor at Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas under the leadership of Pastor Joel Osteen. He has also suffered many setbacks, including losing his father and fighting a harrowing battle with diabetes.
But Gray and his brilliant and resilient wife, Aventer, are an open book of heart and healing, as they address their challenges head with grace and humility. This week the stars of the series were on hand to answer questions, address concerns and fellowship with fans and press alike. The series airs on Saturdays at 10/9c.
“God is changing us in front of you,” Gray said during an event at the London Hotel NYC. He was very candid about his health issues saying, “God is super but we can do the natural.”
During the press event, much like on the show, John and Aventer are more than candid about their spiritual, professional and physical journey and the visceral reaction many fans of the show have in regards to the family’s process and progress.
But the Gray’s offer so much more than health advice. They are spiritual leaders and warriors changing lives both in person and now on the small screen.
The show is full of celebrities and surprises including a special visit from one of the members of Destiny’s Child, Michelle Williams.
During the event, many guests popped in for a visit including former Bleu cover model and “Power” actor, Rotimi.
Check out the show on OWN TV for drama grounded in real life human emotion and everyday people trying their best to live a Godly life.
