Adidas Unveils the Solarboost

Adidas adding a special feature to the Boost family known as the Solarboost, a performance running sneaker that introduces the Tailored Fiber Placement technology.

Inspired by NASA, this technology provides reduced weight to past Boost runners, a high energy return and durability in multiple conditions. It separates itself from past Adidas sneakers.

“We knew it was time to challenge the status quo of a performance running shoe,” said Chris Ekman, Adidas’ senior product manager of Running according to Solecollector. “To create a lightweight, supportive, and comfortable silhouette for every runner, we took inspiration from the automotive and aerospace industries and discovered Tailored Fiber Placement, a precision manufacturing technology that allowed us to stitch materials together more precisely than ever before.”

The future of sneakers is a discussion that most sneakerheads have with friends and colleagues. They always try to find the best looking and comfortable sneakers, which Adidas is in line for. In 2015 the sneaker was a bust, didn’t live up to expectations. The 2018 version of these sneakers is going beyond the original. It’s building a new mesh and providing better support and direction for the person wearing the sneaker.

This is definitely much more different than Nike or Converse. Expect it to sell a lot during the summer, especially for those wanting great running sneakers.
