Vogue Magazine has been one of the top fashion/celebrity magazine since its first issue in 1892. It has been the source for men and women for any of their fashion needs. Anna Wintour has been the chief editor for Vogue since 1988. In 2013 she became the artistic director for Condé Nast, Vogue’s publisher. Vogue has done many collaborations with big brands in the past, including Kith, but they have never done one with a company as big as Air Jordan.
Michael Jordan started Air Jordan in 1984 in collaboration with Nike. Bringing in $3 billion dollars a year for Nike, Jordan Brand is one of the biggest industries in the world. They collaborated with huge brands including: Supreme, Undefeated, Levis, and PSNY. Incorporating a little variety into the brand, Nike decided to make a collection with Vogue Magazine.
This collection will include two models of sneakers: the Air Jordan 1 High Zip, and the Air Jordan 3 SE. The High Zip features a elongated tongue with a zipper instead of the laces. This shoe will arrive in two colorways: Sail and University Red. It will also include swish logos on the sides, “Edited By Vogue” tags, and “AWOK” signed on the sole. “AWOK” was used in Anna Wintours pieces, standing for “Anna Wintour OK”. The High Zip sneaker will be available Saturday, July 21st at Hirshleifers, Kith, Nordstrom x Nike and North America Jumpman Doors (306 Yonge in Toronto and 32 South State in Chicago). It will also be available on the Nike SNKRS app on July 23rd in North America. You will be able to pick these up for $220. The Air Jordan 3 is a tribute to Anna Wintour coming with “Edited By Vogue” tags and “AWOK” on the sole. It will be released on September 7th. There are no set locations or prices for these shoes as of yet. This will be a very limited release so you better mark your calendars.
