Actor and model Keith Powers's most well-known performances are as Tyree in the movie Straight Outta Compton and as Ronnie DeVoe in the BET miniseries The New Edition Story. He traveled to Los Angeles with his father to pursue modeling after graduating from Sheldon High School in 2010 and signing with the Wilhelmina Agency. Powers was cast in the film House Party: Tonight's the Night in 2013. He decided to pursue acting full-time after taking a plane to South Africa for filming. He portrayed Cameron Drake in the Netflix original movie Reality High and Gutta in the BET hip-hop anthology series Tales. After playing Tyree in the movie Straight Outta Compton, he went on to have a recurring role on the MTV series Faking It. Afterward, he co-starred in Famous in Love on Freeform after being cast as Ronnie DeVoe in The New Edition Story. In the 2019 Netflix series What/If, he also made an appearance.
