The wait is over, folks. The Iconic Air Jordan XI Concords return after originally making its debut over 2 decades ago by Michael Jordan. This time, the shoes will feature his number 45 on both heals and retail will start at $200. Designed by Tinker Harfield, the 11th Air Jordan shoe was created after Michael announced his retirement during the height of his Career in which he would be stepping away from Basketball to take a career swing at Professional Baseball with the Binghamton Barons in baseball’s minor baseball leagues. The shoe was revealed for the first time on the court by Michael himself during ’94-’95 NBA Season Eastern Conference Semifinals when they played against the Orlando Magic. He also wore the XI white Columbia colorway in the during the 1996 NBA All-Star Game where he became MVP of the game. The shoes received more media exposure when Jordan wore the Air Jordan XI model in 1996 during his staring role alongside your favorite Looney Tune Characters in the Movie Space Jam. These shoes were eventually released in 2000 and re-released in 2009 with the nickname Space Jams. The Concord purple was changed to royal blue for the released versions of the shoe. It was retro’d in 2000, 2001, 2003, and 2006–2018. The Air Jordan XI is the most popular Air Jordan in the series and has released almost ritualistically every December since 2008, selling out in minutes. It also is Hatfield’s favorite. With the Air Jordan XI being the most popular Jordan, supply used to be very limited and would cause fans to line up outside of stores before releases. They will be available this Saturday 12/8 at 10 am everywhere.
