As reported on the 19th, Karl Lagerfeld‘s successor after his passing is Virginie Viard. But she won’t be the only one with the reigns on The House of Chanel. A second successor was reported as Image Director Eric Pfrunder.
As reported by Business of Fashion:
“Viard has been named artistic director for fashion collections, the closely held fashion house said in a statement Wednesday, while Pfrunder was appointed artistic director for fashion image.”
“The move to name co-artistic directors from within the company implies that no one is being given the extensive authority Lagerfeld had enjoyed as its only creative chief since founder Coco Chanel.”
They also stated on Chanel‘s official statement from co-owner Alain Werthheimer stated that he, “confirms his confidence in the team that worked with Karl Lagerfeld for over 30 years.”
