Today’s culture consists of rappers as our modern day rockstars. Travis Scott is a pioneer in the concept of leveraging his brand with his fanbase, and being able to sell products at the same frequency as athletes and movie stars did years ago. The Houston artist transcended the hip hop genre to become a cultural and fashion icon.Travis Scott has already been blessed with a handful of signature sneakers but this latest model seems to be stirring up a lot of hype.
The sneaker features the classic, ever so popular, tumbled leather upper but with a reversenikeswoosh, a stashpocket, and subtle Cactus Jack branding. The model blends earthy brown tones like darkmocha and sail toned sole with the traditional red and black colorway, to create a unique almost vintage aesthetic.
A surprise release of the sneakers came to fruition this past February following Scott‘s Grammy performance. The shoe dropped on Nike‘s SNKRS app and sold out in less than 1 minute.
Since then, the overall reception of the shoe has been quite positive with many Jordan brand lovers already being partial to the Air Jordan I, Travis Scott only enhances the the appeal.
Travis Scott‘s Air Jordan I High OG is set to release on May 3 2019 at a $175 USD price point. In addition, Scott will be dropping his debut apparel collection, in conjunction with the sneaker. The collection will include a hoodie, shorts, tracksuit and varioustees all including TravisScott and Jumpman branding.
You can catch this limited release online via the Nike SNKRS app, or at select retailers around the world.
