Onitsuka Tiger has been an admirable and innovative brand in terms of sneakers. They combine style with animation effects to its silhouettes. This time, the Japanese brand reworked the logo trainer coming in a white and “Shocking Orange” color scheme.
The multi-colored sneaker features a suede and leather silhouette along with green laces. The brands logo stripes are orange and outlined with a black detailing, allowing the stripes to stand out. What makes this shoe unique is the reversal of the coloring found on the other side of the shoe. Despite past Onitsuka Tiger sneakers, like the Horizonia Trainer, the Big Logo trainer takes a stronger look.
Onitsuka Tiger’s first product was a basketball silhouette which resembled a straw sandal. The Japanese brand is said to be one of the oldest shoe companies in Japan with an outstanding timeline. To rework the original shoe, Onitsuka made a more effective pair in 1952 which was touched with small cups. Throughout the process, the company increased its business to 500 sport shops all across Japan. The shoes then fell in the hands of big athletes such as Abebe Bikila, Oliver Skilton and many more.
The history of Onitsuka Tiger is important because it relays the brands message and process to create the Logo Trainer.
The Onitsuka Tiger is now available for $155 at Foot District’s online store.
