At the intimate Chelsea Music Hall, MTV hosted their Push Live event to showcase the hottest up-and-comers in the music industry. The show included performances by Stunna Girl, Lonr, and closed out by Flipp Dinero. The show, which was opened to the public, offered these artists an opportunity to showcase their new music in front of a small, but supportive audience.
Stunna Girl opened the show with some of her latest hits. Hailing from Sacramento, the 21-year-old artist signed to Epic Records after she released her independent project YKWTFGO, which gained wide recognition in her home city. Her 2019 single, “Runway,” is what really made her claim to fame. The song blew up on TikTok with the #RunwayChallenge, making Stunna Girl among the four top artists on the app.
Following Stunna Girl was the two-time Grammy winning songwriterLonr. With writing credits on numerous H.E.R projects, the artist rose to fame by sharing his original music on TikTok. With the goal of creating a name for himself as an entertainer, Lonr dropped his first two songs “A.M” and “Safe Zone,” both of which he performed live at the event. Recently wrapping up a tour with YBN Cordae, his high-energy performance at the event showcased his unmatched stage presence. Lonr is currently getting ready to drop his debut project Land of Nothing Real this spring.
Closing out the show was none other than Flipp Dinero. With huge hits like “Leave Me Alone,” “How I Move” featuring Lil Baby, and “Looking at Me” featuring Rich the Kid, he was truly the star of the show. Gracing the cover of Bleu’ssoon-to-be released Entertainment Issue, this Brooklyn-bred rapper is sure to have mass success in 2020. Aside from performing those aforementioned singles, Flipp also paid homage to his fellow Brooklynite Pop Smoke by playing “Dior” and “Welcome to the Party.”
