In 2011, at the age of sixteen, G Herbo secured a record contract with Machine Entertainment Group. His first mixtape, Welcome to Fazoland (2014), was published through the label. Pistol P Project (2014), Ballin Like I'm Kobe (2015), and Strictly 4 My Fans (2016) were the next releases. Humble Beast, his 2017 debut studio album, was well-received by critics when it was released through Cinematic Music Group. Swervo (2018), his joint album with record producer Southside, was released on a major label by Epic Records, and its follow-up, Still Swervin (2019), was released as Wright's second album. As with his fourth and fifth albums, 25 (2021) and Survivor's Remorse (2022), his third album, PTSD (2020), debuted in the top ten of the Billboard 200 upon release. 25 was also his first release via Republic Records.
