As the weather starts to heat up, here are a few new releases from Lil Baby, Pop Smoke, and more.
Ungodly Hour, Chloe x Halle
The duo Chloe x Halle released their highly anticipated album Ungodly Hour. The album came after pushing back the date due to the Black Lives Matter movement. The duo is the first artist to sign to Beyonce’s label Parkwood Entertainment. The project features 13 tracks with guest appearances from Swae Lee and producer Mike Will Made-It. It will be their first project since the 2018 album The Kids Are Alright.
Ungodly Hour is available now on all streaming platforms.
“Make It Rain,” Pop Smoke Ft. Rowdy Robel
Pop Smoke’s posthumous album was supposed to be released today, but due to the Black Lives Matter Movement, his camp decided to delay the release of his album. Instead, they released a single entitled “Main It Rain” featuring Brooklyn’s own Rowdy Rebel. Pop Smoke’s manager Steven Victor took to Instagram:
“Music is the tool of revolution. We have been watching, along with the rest of the world, as long overdue change starts to take root. We have seen Pop’s Music become the soundtrack of the moment, unifying the masses.” via Instagram.
July 3 is the set date for Pop Smoke posthumous album. “Make It Rain” is available on all streaming platforms.
“The Bigger Picture,” Lil Baby
Atlanta rapper Lil Baby sent a strong message on his newly released single entitled “The Bigger Picture.” The song is in response to the national protests over the killing of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor. Lil Baby makes many references to police brutality as well.
“The Bigger Picture” is now available on all streaming platforms.
“RockStar” (Black Lives Matter Remix), Dababy Ft. Roddy Ricch
Late last month, the single “Rockstar” by DaBaby featuring Roddy Ricch went platinum. The Charlotte rapper released a remix to the song with a Black Lives Matter twist. The unique remix features Dababy adding in his experience with police as well as police brutality.
