A few weeks ago, rising star Tyla Yaweh dropped his single “Tommy Lee” featuring his close friend and tourmate Post Malone. The track was dropped along with a video that has already surpassed 13 million views on YouTube since its release. The song was released ahead of his upcoming album RAGER BØY and recently, he teamed up with Beats by Dre to create RAGER BØY TV, which will give an inside look into Yaweh’s life as he gears up to release the album.
2019 was a record year for Tyla Yaweh. His project Heart Full of Rage received rave reviews and did crazy numbers. His single “High Right Now” blew up across streaming platforms prompting the one and only Wiz Khalifa to create a remix for the breakout single. The remix, which dropped earlier this year, has over 21 million streams on Spotify.
Tyla Yaweh has been widely regarded as one of the top rising artists of 2019. His uniqueness in not only his music, but his style and personality are unmatched. Back in February, Yaweh met with Bleu in Long Island City for one of his first editorial shoots. Aside from music, Yaweh is very passionate about fashion and has quite a unique taste that flowed seamlessly with style team A Guy and A Gurl. With Heart Full of Rage blaring in the background, Yahweh enthusiastically worked with the duo to create looks that reflected his personal, eclectic style.
Despite having performed the night before alongside Post Malone and Swae Lee, Yahweh’s energy on the set was unmatched from the moment he arrived to the moment he left. Shot by Ricardo Nelson, the editorial, both colorful and vibrant, really captured Yaweh’s personality and style, and the overall mood of the set.
It was an honor for Bleu to meet with and share the story of such a talented artist who is sure to do amazing things in the near future. Check out Tyla Yaweh’s editorial shoot from Issue 65 of Bleu Magazine.
