Up and coming rap star 42 Dugg recently released his official music video for “One of One”, featuring Babyface Ray. In just five days, the video is closing in on a million views on YouTube and is proving to be a strong follow up to his recent smash hit with Lil Baby, “We Paid”.
The RIAA gold certified “We Paid” track is still going viral, peaking at the #10 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart and #3 on Rolling Stone’s Top 100. The Detroit artist has put the rap game on notice in 2020 with other hit collaborations with Lil Baby like “Grace”, as well as his the release of the deluxe version of his critically acclaimed mixtape, Young & Turnt 2. The project features artists like Moneybagg Yo and Dej Loaf, and contains an array of bangers including “NotA Rapper” (feat. Yo Gotti and Lil Baby),”“Been Turnt,” and “Hard Times”.
The “One of One” visual is 42 Dugg’s first since the release of the deluxe version of the mixtape. Directed by Tremaine Edwards, in association with Ghetto Boyz Films, the two artists are seen driving down the streets of late-night Miami in foreign whips and posting up at the Fontainebleau Hotel. The video accompanies a heartbreak track in which the duo rap about being let down by a girl who was supposed to be “one of one”. The two flow effortlessly on the unique and rather mellow instrumental, complimenting each other’s styles perfectly.
42 Dugg is capitalizing on his massive potential, and 2020 is serving as his takeover year. He continues to put on for D-Town, and if you didn’t know who 42 Dugg was before, you sure as hell do now.
