Beginning to release his own music online in the mid-2010s under the Duckwrth name, Duckwrth grew his fan base in 2015 when he joined forces with The Kickdrums to create the split album Nowhere. I'm Ugly, Duckwrth's debut full-length album, was released in 2016. His debut album with Republic Records, An XTRA UUGLY Mixtape, was released at the end of 2017. The song "Start a Riot" by him was included in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018). The CW sitcom All American and the HBO series Insecure both used his song "MICHUUL." He published the EP The Falling Man in 2019 and SuperGood, his major label debut album, on Republic in 2020. After SuperGood was released, he would go on to release his next two EPs under his own label, SuperGood Creative Studios: 2022's Chrome Bull, a more dance-oriented project, and 2021's SG8*, a project that looked at the present and soundscapes.
