Last night was the 93rd annual Academy Awards. Whilst the Oscars looked different due to the pandemic, it had one thing that other awards have been skipping. A red carpet. So without further ado, here are some of the best looks from the night.
Zendaya
Zendaya hit the carpet in a yellow cut-out gown by Valentino Haute Couture. She was styled by Law Roach who cited Cher who wore a similar outfit in her 1970’s TV show. Along with the dress she held a vintage clutch by Balmain and a whopping $6million worth of diamonds from Bulgari. The dress also glows in the dark.
Lakeith Stanfield
Almost every year, fashion enthusiasts have the same complaint about the men on the Oscars red carpet. We’re tired of the same black tuxedos. Lakeith Stanfield did wear black but switched things up by wearing a jumpsuit. The 70’s style piece is by Saint Laurent and helped the best supporting actor nominee stand out from the crowd.
H.E.R.
H.E.R took home the award for best original song for “Fight For You” from Judas and the Black Messiah. She did it wearing a deep blue jumpsuit and cape which was custom made for her by Dundas. The outfit was paired with jewellery from Chopard.
Andra Day
Social media was in love with Andra Day’s look. The singer was nominated for best actress for her performance in The United Sates Vs Billie Holiday. The strappy gold cut out gown was made by Vera Wang and was made entirely of metal. She paired the look with $2million of Tiffany & Co jewels.
Colman Domingo
Whereas Lakeith broke the men’s fashion mold by not wearing a tuxedo, Colam Domingo said no to black and white. The actor took to the red carpet in a bright pink, three-piece, embellished suit by Versace paired with black shoes.
