The Off-Season, J. Cole
Three years ago, J.Cole released a freestyle called Album of the Year as a teaser to his upcoming album. Released on Soundcloud, along with a music video, in the description, Cole writes, “The Off-Season coming soon.” Fast-forward three years later, Cole releases his sixth studio album titled The Off-Season. Along with the release, Cole signed a deal to play with Rwanda’s Patriots BBC in the Basketball Africa League.
Be Right Back, Jorja Smith
After the release of Lost & Found, Jorja Smith became a household name. Being relatively quiet for 2020, the singer returns with an eight-track E.P titled Be Right Back. Back in October 2020, in an interview with Kenyan comedian Elsa Majimbo, Smith confirmed finishing the touches to the E.P. “I’m currently banging the new one. I can’t wait for you a lot to hear what I’ve been writing.” The lead single, Addicted, was released earlier in the year following by the second single, Gone.

Kodak season starts today with the release of Haitian Boy Kodak. After making headlines none music-related in 2021, the rapper is back with the release of his new project. Kodak, born to a Haitian immigrant, showcases his Haitian culture throughout the project. Haitian Boy Kodak is also, Kodak’s first project since being released from prison earlier this year.
