Netflix is starting this fall off with a bang, with a number of new TV shows and movies, in addition to new episodes of viewers’ favorite existing movies and shows.
Netflix is debuting several original drama films this month. In honor of 9/11, Netflix included a biographical drama based on 9/11. The movie is titled Worth and debuts September 3rd, starring Amy Ryan, Michael and Stanley Tucci and Michael Keaton. The film is directed by Sara Colangelo and is based on true events and follows Keaton, who plays an attorney, as he faces the seemingly difficult task of determining the extent of compensation for families who were victims of the Sept. 11 attacks.
Another drama film releasing this fall is Freedom Writers, a 2000’s classic starring Hilary Swank, Scott Glenn, and Patrick Dempsy. The film is based on a dedicated teacher who teaches at-risk teens, and inspires her students to take more of an interest in their education.
Netflix is also dropping the final seasons of one of their most popular supernatural horror shows, Lucifer. Additionally, the last season of Dear White People is set to release in September. Netflix will be releasing every season of Saved by the Bell, one of viewers’ old time favorites. The Circle, Netflix’s original reality competition, is also set to release a new season this month.
