In a remarkable journey of resilience and vision, sisters Keisha Wagner-Gaymon (CEO) and Kristin Wagner (COO) are celebrating the expansion of their business, PeachFuzz Skin Studio, with the opening of a second location in Valley Stream, NY. Following the success of their flagship Brooklyn location, launched in 2020 amidst the challenges of the pandemic, the duo is bringing their inclusive, client-centered services to Long Island.

PeachFuzz Laser Studio began as a laser hair removal studio designed to meet the unique skin care needs of women of color,” Keisha explains. “We realized there was a gap in products and services tailored to ethnic skin tones, particularly for those managing conditions like PCOS and hirsutism. This studio was something I wish I had growing up.

The new 2,000-square-foot studio, located at 425 Rockaway Avenue, Valley Stream, NY 11581, offers the same top-tier services that have made PeachFuzz a trusted name, including laser hair removal, electrolysis, vajacials, and a variety of facial and body treatments. “This expansion isn’t just about a bigger space—it’s about deepening our connection with our clients,” says Kristin. “We’ve always been committed to creating a welcoming environment where clients feel seen and understood. With this new location, we’re excited to serve those who’ve traveled from Queens and Long Island to Brooklyn.”

One of PeachFuzz’s key offerings at the Valley Stream location is their Founding Peach Membership Program, a premium initiative for their loyal clientele. For an annual fee of $250, members enjoy locked-in pricing on laser hair removal services, a 15% discount on other treatments, and exclusive VIP perks, including special events and branded gifts.

Since its inception, PeachFuzz Skin Studio has been lauded for addressing the underserved needs of people with melanated skin, especially women coping with hormonal imbalances and conditions affecting hair growth. Their personalized approach, combined with medical expertise, has helped them grow a client base of over 5,000 customers. “We empower women to feel confident and beautiful, tackling an issue that impacts their self-esteem,” Keisha notes.

We sat down with Keisha and Kristin to discuss PeachFuzz’s latest run and what to expect next.

Q: What inspired you to start PeachFuzz Skin Studio, and how has your mission evolved since launching in 2020?

Keisha: PeachFuzz was inspired by my own struggles with unwanted facial hair as a teenager. It was difficult, especially as a woman of color. When I visited hair removal clinics in Manhattan, I didn’t feel seen or understood, particularly since I was dealing with a hormonal condition called PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome). I wanted to create a space that not only provided solutions but also understood the emotional impact of these issues. PeachFuzz became the studio I wish I had back then—a place that truly supports its clients on a personal and physical level.

Q: How did you navigate launching your business during the pandemic, and how did it grow from your Brooklyn flagship to the new Long Island location?

Keisha: It was a leap of faith! We started in June 2020, right in the middle of the pandemic, by converting an empty apartment into a studio. My sister Kristin and I combined my medical expertise as a nurse practitioner with her operational skills from corporate America. Despite the challenges, we found there was a significant, unmet need for laser hair removal tailored to women of color.

Q: Tell us about the Founding Peach Membership Program. How does it benefit your clients?

Keisha: Founding Peach is our way of showing appreciation to our loyal and new clients. Members pay an annual fee of $250, which locks in discounted pricing for services like laser hair removal and facials while also getting 15% off other treatments. It’s a VIP experience—members get exclusive perks, invitations to events, and even a personalized plaque displayed in the studio. It’s all about making our clients feel special. We’re community-driven, so we host events like our summer socials to create connections and celebrate our clients. The Founding Peach program builds on that sense of belonging and care.

Q: How do your roles as CEO and COO complement each other in running the business?

Keisha: We’re the dream team! Kristin handles operations and strategy, while I focus on the medical side—skincare, laser treatments, and client care. We balance each other out perfectly and tackle challenges together.

Q: What advice do you have for women of color looking to start or grow their own businesses?

Keisha: Just do it, even if you’re scared. Starting a business can feel overwhelming, but taking that first step is crucial. Prepare your mindset by reading, listening to podcasts, and learning from others’ experiences. Believe in yourself and remember—it’s better to try and learn than to never try at all.

Q: What’s next for PeachFuzz Skin Studio?

Keisha: We’re excited to open our Valley Stream location and continue expanding our services. We’re also launching new skincare products this summer as part of our FuzzClinic line. It’s all about growing with our clients and meeting their needs. And we can’t wait to celebrate with everyone at the grand opening on January 30th. It’s going to be a fantastic start to the next chapter of PeachFuzz!
