The Breakdown: Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Tyler, The Creator, and other hip-hop heavyweights dominated Apple Music’s 2025 year-end charts.

Hip-hop had a big year in 2025, with some of the biggest names in the business topping Apple Music’s top artists and top songs charts. Drake once again proved why fans still call him the 6 God. Apple Music crowned him the most-streamed artist worldwide of 2025.

The honor comes after a turbulent two-year stretch. Drake spent much of 2024 locked in a public rap war with Kendrick Lamar. The battle sparked questions about whether his reign was slipping. The numbers shut that down fast. “@Drake is our most-streamed artist this year,” Apple tweeted. However, Drake is not the only big name topping the charts. Here is a look at which hip-hop heavy hitters landed on the coveted list.

Apple Music’s “most-streamed artist” title comes down to total plays across the platform. Apple did not release exact stream counts, but the ranking reflects nonstop rotation all year. Longtime fans revisited Take Care, while newer listeners tapped into his recent work. Drake pulled off the win without releasing a solo studio album in 2025. His last full solo project, For All the Dogs, arrived in 2023. Singles like “Nokia” and “Gimme a Hug” kept his momentum alive. Both tracks cracked the Billboard Hot 100 top 10. “Nokia” finished the year as his biggest song on Apple Music.

Kendrick Lamar

Drake may own the artist crown, but Kendrick owned the songs conversation on Apple Music this year. On Apple Music’s Top Songs of 2025: Global chart, the No. 1 slot belongs to Rosé and Bruno Mars’ smash “APT.” But right behind it at No. 2 is Kendrick and SZA’s collab “Luther,” which finishes as the most-streamed hip-hop/R&B song on Apple Music in 2025. Kendrick pops up again at No. 4 with “Not Like Us”, the Drake diss record that already dominated 2024 and refused to leave listeners’ rotations this year.

Tyler, The Creator

Tyler, The Creator is not Apple’s most-streamed artist, but Apple Music named Tyler its 2025 Artist of the Year. Apple reported that fans logged 4.5 billion minutes of Tyler’s music between November 2024 and October 2025. That surge followed the releases of CHROMAKOPIA and the surprise project DON’T TAP THE GLASS. A world tour and multiple festival headlining slots pushed his catalog even harder. His posse cut “Sticky” featuring Sexyy Red, GloRilla, and Lil Wayne landed at No. 42 on Apple’s Top Songs of 2025: Global chart.

Future & Metro Boomin

Future and Metro Boomin stayed heavy in rotation thanks to “Like That” featuring Kendrick Lamar. The song landed at No. 35 on Apple Music’s Top Songs of 2025: Global chart. The track originally appeared on their joint album We Don’t Trust You, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and delivered the biggest first week for a rap album in 2024. The duo later doubled back with a second project, We Still Don’t Trust You. They capped the run with a Best Group win at the 2025 BET Awards.
