From Screen to Stage: Caleb McLaughlin's Versatility in Performing Arts

When you think of Caleb McLaughlin, what comes to mind? For me, it's his talent and versatility.

Most people recognize Caleb from his role as Lucas Sinclair in 'Stranger Things.' Did you know that he is also a stage performer and musician? If you were unaware let’s bring you up to speed.

Caleb's journey to stardom dates back to his involvement in theatre.

Before becoming known as 'Lucas Sinclair' Caleb pursued his dreams on the stage. His acting debut happened at Glimmerglass Opera House with a production called "Lost in the Stars."

However, it was on Broadway where he truly made a mark!

From 2012 to 2014 he commanded the stage as Young Simba in "The Lion King" earning him the deserved title of 'King of the Pride Lands.'

"I remember watching 'The Lion King' with my parents. I looked at Simba. Thought, 'Yes that's who I want to be '" Caleb shared during an interview.

Dreams can indeed come true.

After enduring auditions, he finally landed that coveted role. Hakuna Matata didn't have a fighting chance!

He wasn't only conquering Broadway; he also graced our television screens. He made guest appearances in Blue Bloods, Forever, and Law & Order. The real turning point came in 2016 when he embraced the role of Lucas Sinclair in Stranger Things.

"Shooting Stars" is based on his memoir from 2009, which he co-wrote with renowned author Buzz Bissinger. The story revolved around LeBron James and his knit group of school friends known as the Fab Four. It takes us on a captivating journey through James' dreams and ambitions in basketball.

Cale­b isn't just adept on stage and scree­n, he's also a solid dancer! Can you picture a young Cale­b, grooving at Happy Feet Dance School? Ye­s, it's true.

But Caleb's dance odysse­y didn't end there.

He exported his rhythm to The Harle­m School of the Arts. Here, under Aubrey Lynch's guidance, a past producer of "The Lion King," he honed his skills. What a way to learn!

He's not just an actor, but a musician too. In 2021, "Neighborhood", his first single, showed off his musical tale­nt. Also, "Soul Travel," a new melody he shared, delighted us all. Cale­b said music isn't just a side gig—it's something that truly touches his soul.
