Style and Sound: Dixson's Fashion Trends

Dixson works as a Grammy and Academy Award-nominated producer and songwriter. Since his earliest days as a child, Dixson, known then as Darius Scott, practiced as much as he was allowed. His musical talents emerged early. For example, he learned all 11 instruments in his church’s gospel band. He did this so that he could step in “...at a moment’s notice.”

It was during Dixson’s time at college in The College of Wooster that his love of music really shined. He sang in “The Wooster Chorus,” played in the school’s jazz band, and served as the musical director for yet another band at the college.

While Dixson was in college, he inserted himself into the musical lifeblood of the school. He even used his musical knowledge and savvy to land prestigious internships at “The National Association of Black Mayors” and even “MTV.”

In most of his pictures, whether on his social media accounts or in magazines, it is obvious that one of Dixson’s favorite colors, if not his one favorite color, is basic black. A lot of celebrities like black not only because it is slimming but also because an all-black ensemble can look chic without a ton of effort. Dixson has taken that maxim to heart as he attends many events in all-black outfits.

When Dixson makes public appearances, he usually goes to his signature basic black look. The all-black look often includes well-tailored blazers. Men of all races like blazers because that clothing item makes a man look dressed up in seconds. Dixson usually dresses down his blazers in a black look with a t-shirt and combat boots.

When Dixson wants to look put together but still casual, he will often go for an all-leather look. For example, one of his favorite outfits is his leather sweatsuit. They are great for the outside, whether he is on the red carpet for an event or he is in the studio crafting his next hot. Leather is great because it looks good whether you dress it up or down.

Dixson is a man who believes that if you look good, good things can happen. While he doesn’t wear a three-piece suit every single day, Dixson knows how to look good when there is a red carpet on which he has to appear.
