Well, Kai Jones's mother moved to Florida for college, and Kai Jones had to move as well, and it is here that he got exposed to basketball. It is moving back and forth between the Bahamas and Florida that Jones recalls having a massive growth spurt and growing to about 6-7” at the age of 15. He would attend basketball showcases in the Bahamas and started loving the game.

Highschool and University Developments

Everyone in Kai's hometown recognized him as the guy with killer athletic moves and mad skills on the basketball court. Back in 2017, his hustle finally paid off when he got scouted at a basketball camp. Next thing you know, he scored a high school scholarship in Orlando, Florida, where he played at Orlando Christian Prep, followed by the University of Texas, and then the Charlotte Hornets, still leveling up his game.

Kai's been a total game-changer for the Hornets, thanks to his speed, solid build, and how he owns the court, making him an effective transition player.

What Does the Future Hold for Kai?

With the recent developments of Kai Jone's basketball career, it is difficult to say what the future may hold for him. First, the Charlotte Hornets announced that Kai would not participate in training camp. The forward center later broke the silence, went crazy on social media, and even requested a trade from the Hornets.

The club has since waived him, and it seems that he will soon be looking for new opportunities.
