Michael Rainey Jr. is one of the most familiar faces on cable TV. The handsome young actor started his journey in the industry, featuring in television and commercials. Let’s clarify one thing: Michael has always loved acting since childhood. He began acting at a young age. As a child, he featured in several commercials in both print and television, along with music videos.

In an interview, he said he was scouted on the street of New York for a music video. But one day, he did a music video for an Italian artist. The video was a hit on MTV, and Silvio Meschino saw the video he made. He contacted his mother and said he knew he was the kid for his movie.

“He was like, ‘Do you act? Do you do any print work or anything? You know, but you have a good face, right?’ Michael was lost for words, ‘No, like, I’m just... I play sports. I got this; at this time, I played basketball and football.’ They flew us over to Italy for 10 days to meet, and the next thing I knew, we were back in New York, packing our bags and heading back to Italy to do my first movie in Italian.”

Just like that, Rainey got that jump start people dream about. But it wasn’t really that easy. At age 10, he had to learn Italian to star in the film “Un Altro Mondo” in 2010.

He was starring in different stuff at just the age of 11. After spending a year in Italy, he played a bunch of roles in other movies and shows, including “Orange is the New Black.”

He was consistent in show business. And when we saw him alongside Ice Cube and Nicki Minaj taking a role in “Barbershop,” that was the cue that he had arrived in Hollywood.

Mike also started a Netflix original called “Amateur.” But his fame finally came when he played a role in the American crime drama series “Power.” Michael’s character, Tariq, gained a lot of popularity.

One of those luxuries everyone enjoys, except for maybe J. Cole, is an expensive car. Michael is big on cars. So much so that many believe that he is more passionate about cars than he is acting.

Naturally, he owns several collections of cars that he enjoys riding, and to top it all off, he has even created an Instagram account where he displays his toys. It appears that he already owns several cars, and it seems like Mercedes and BMWs are the vehicle of his choice.

One thing about Michael is that he likes to keep his life private. So, only a little is known about any of his girlfriends. Michael and Ugandan model, Eva Apio, were reported to be in a relationship mid-2019, according to the Shade Room. However, none of them talked openly about their relationship at the time. They had previously featured on each other’s Instagrams as they shared their relationship with their followers.

However, posts about the pair have been deleted on social media, suggesting they're no longer together. Since the reported split, the actor has kept his private life away from social media and is currently said to be single.
