When Reesa Teesa took to TikTok to share the story about her broken marriage, she hoped her message would help others heal. What she didn’t plan for was a viral explosion that saw her story reach audiences worldwide.

Reesa, whose real name is Tareasa Johnson, uploaded a 10-minute TikTok video that changed her life forever. Reesa’s “Who TF Did I Marry” series had 50 parts – with each drawing more listeners into the messy story.

Reesa alleged that she met a man named Legion – who was later revealed to be Jerome McCoy – at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Reesa and Legion’s relationship was hot and heavy. The pair moved in together shortly after they started dating, and Reesa later found herself pregnant with Legion’s child. However, when the couple began looking for homes together, Reesa learned that there were inconsistencies in the stories that he shared about his life.

During their marriage, Legion promised to buy Reesa a car – which never came to fruition. According to Reesa, Legion also lied about securing a loan for a new house, told fabricated stories about his job, and even made up scenarios about his biological family.

Reesa’s story became so viral that the series is being made into a movie. Here are the details.

When is the ‘Who TF Did I Marry’ movie’s release date?

Reesa Teesa’s harrowing TikTok tale is getting the movie treatment. Filmmaker Alvin Gray is bringing the story to life with his 9/10 Productions company.

The movie, titled The Wife That Didn’t Know Who She Married, is clearly inspired by Reesa’s story, and it showcases several key moments from the viral series. The film premiered on March 14 and is available for viewing exclusively on YouTube.

The movie has garnered mixed reviews, as some are slamming 9/10 Productions for profiting off of Reesa’s story. “How is this a movie already when her story is still unfolding,” one viewer commented. Another wrote, “I would be upset if I was Teesa but if I'm being honest, this is a really great job so quickly.”

What is Reesa Teesa doing now?

Following the success of her “Who TF Did I Marry” series, Reesa Teesa signed with [a] prominent Hollywood talent agency, CAA. “I hope to bring this story and personal experiences to an even bigger platform with the hope of helping those in similar circumstances know they are not alone,” Reesa said in a statement (per The Hollywood Reporter).

Reesa has also appeared on television programs like Good Morning America, and The Tamron Hall Show, where she further details her experience with Legion.

Meanwhile, Legion is considering taking legal action against Teesa, claiming that her entire story was a lie. He told TMZ, that he was the one who ended their marriage after discovering that Reesa was having an affair.

Legion further claimed that Reesa attempted to mend their relationship privately, before sharing the story on TikTok. He suggested that he was not the man that Reesa portrayed him to be, although he did not offer an explanation for many of the accusations levied against him.
