A new Parisian department store has recently sparked excitement within New York City’s fashion community. Emphasizing that they are more than just a retail checkpoint, Printemps strived to create a lush and stimulating space that would send guests out of this world. And they did more than just succeed at that. From candy-themed fitting rooms to an airy floral cafe and an alluring cocktail bar, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Just a few steps away from the Wall Street subway station are front doors that immediately pull you into an immersive fashion paradise. Though they do not formally open until March 21st, ambassadors from the store have kindly offered guests a tour of the space, providing details behind each architectural wonder within it. French designer Laura Gonzalez used a mix of playful imagination and refined creativity to produce a cozy interior meant to replicate the feeling of walking through someone’s home.

The first floor of the establishment greets you with a welcoming cafe that serves a variety of handcrafted beverages and fresh baked goods. Diving further into the space, you’ll find several other enchanting displays, including an exclusive Nike collection, custom pieces from upcoming designers, and abstract home decor.
Moving on to the second floor brings on an entirely new experience. Guests are welcome to book a reservation at the cozy French bistro “Salon Vert,” overlooking the bustling activity of Broadway. Progressing onwards, you’ll encounter a variety of menswear followed by a walkway of luxurious skincare. The cosmetic department transitions into a salon equipped with staff eager to provide you with more information on enriching beauty treatments and techniques.
Passing through the boudoir that features vintage designer pieces and evening apparel grants you access to what is arguably the most beautiful exhibit in the entire store. The “Red Room” preserves the original Art Deco embellishment that had initially been designed for the Irving Trust Bank in 1931. These scarlet-tiled mosaic walls are now home to an elegant array of extravagant footwear ranging from Margiela to Chanel, creating the perfect selection of shoes for your next anticipated outing.

Overall, Printemps’ arrival in New York City marks a significant milestone in fashion history, interfusing European elegance with a modern urban twist of the East coast. With its innovative design and commitment to individual personalization, Printemps is sure to captivate both locals and visitors alike, bringing a fresh take on luxury retail to the heart of the city.
