How to Get Ready for the US Open
The US Open isn't just about tennis; it's about the full experience. And nothing pairs with those two weeks like the tournament's official refreshment: the Honey Deuce. Follow Bleu Magazine's 10-step guide to craft a cocktail as iconic as the matches themselves.

1. Get a Ripe Honeydew Melon
Check for a creamy or pale yellow color and a sweet fragrance at the stem. Cut and scoop out three balls for each cocktail. Freeze them on parchment paper until firm.
2. Pick Your Vodka
Grey Goose is the classic choice, but any premium, unflavored vodka, like Belvedere or Ketel One, delivers the smooth finish this drink demands.
3. Select a Raspberry Liqueur
Chambord Black Raspberry Liqueur is the most popular choice thanks to its rich, deep flavor. For something different, try Giffard Crème de Framboise, or go American with St. George or Clear Creek Raspberry Liqueur.
4. Grab Some Lemonade
There's nothing like fresh-squeezed lemonade if you're making this at home. Simply Lemonade works well here, too. A touch of salt makes those citrus flavors pop.
5. Prep Ice and Glasses
Crush the ice and chill your Collins or highball glass for at least five minutes.
6. Put Drink Together
Start with plenty of ice in your chilled glass.
7. Layer Liquids
Pour 1¼ oz vodka over your crushed ice, add 3 oz lemonade, then finish with a slow drizzle of raspberry liqueur.
8. Stir, Don't Shake
Stir gently to combine the liquids but not too much, or you'll lose the layered pink effect. A long spoon can do the trick.
9. Add Fruit
Add the frozen melon balls. Place them inside or line them across the rim.
10. Serve
Once drinks are ready, serve like a tennis pro with something light and complimentary, like whipped feta dip or bruschetta.
