Since their formation in 1991, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony has captivated audiences with their unique blend of fast-paced rap and distinct melodies. The group, which consists of Bizzy Bone, Wish Bone, Layzie Bone, Krayzie Bone, and Flesh-N-Bone, has left an indelible mark on the hip-hop landscape.
Their 1994 breakthrough EP, Creepin on ah Come Up, featured the hit single "Thuggish Ruggish Bone," the catalyst for their award-winning career.
The group’s subsequent album, E. 1999 Eternal, produced classic tracks like "Tha Crossroads," which won a GRAMMY Award for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group in 1997. Bone Thugs went on to release eight additional studio albums while racking up a slate of accolades.
In recent years, the group has embraced their legacy, celebrating their milestones with special performances and anniversary tours. Their continued relevance is a testament to their talent and the timeless appeal of their music. Here’s what the members of Bone Thugs are up to now.
Krayzie Bone
Krayzie Bone, one of the group's prominent voices, has been busy with solo projects and collaborations. He dropped his first solo project in 1999 and has not slowed down since. Krayzie’s latest album, QuickFix: Level 3, was released in 2023 and received positive feedback from fans.
Krayzie also launched The Life Apparel company. The streetwear brand sells hats, t-shirts, sweatsuits, and other gear.
Layzie Bone
Layzie Bone remains heavily involved in music, both as a solo artist and in collaboration with his Bone Thugs-N-Harmony bandmates. His recent solo work includes the album Hypnotic Rhythms, marked by his signature flow.
“Got to get back to the basics / Face it / Too much time has been wasted on that fake s**t / Erase it / Replace it with them thoughts that lead to greatness / Embrace it,” Layzie raps on “A Place.”
Bizzy Bone
Like the previously mentioned members of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Bizzy Bone continues to make music. He dropped his latest album, The Waste Land, in September 2023 but has also explored other creative ventures.
Bizzy wrote an autobiography, Inside a Bizzy Mind: Bizzy by Choice Bone by Blood, which details his life and time as a rap superstar. He's also active on social media, where he regularly engages with fans.
Wish Bone
Wish Bone, often seen as the group's anchor, remains dedicated to Bone Thugs-N-Harmony's collective projects. While he maintains a lower profile than some of his bandmates, he participates in the group's tours and performances.
Over the years, Wish has gained a reputation for being the reserved member of the group.
“He’s not as kind as everyone else is,” Bizzy Bone said on The Domenick Nati Show. “Sometimes he just don’t want to sign autographs. Sometimes he just don’t feel like being bothered.”
Flesh-N-Bone
Flesh-N-Bone has had a tumultuous journey, but he remains an integral part of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. The rapper was sentenced to 12 years in prison in 2000 for assault with an AK-47 rifle, ABC News reports. He was arrested again in 2011 for domestic violence, according to TMZ. The rap legend was sentenced to three years probation after pleading guilty to false imprisonment.
