If there is one artist who has proven that it is possible to strategically rebrand and win big, it is our girl Courtney Michaela "Coco" Jones.
For the past couple of years, Coco has rebranded herself unapologetically and crafted a beautiful career marked by stunning red-carpet appearances and top-tier collaborations that showcase her talent.
You may have heard of Coco from her days on Disney Channel. Back in the day, the multi-talented singer was a staple on shows like So Random!, Good Luck, Charlie, and Let It Shine.
Now that her Disney days are behind her, the Grammy winner is up to bigger, brighter, and better things — including starring in Peacock's Bel-Air and collaborating with industry giants like Justin Timberlake and Babyface. Here are her best collabs ranked!
Coco Jones (featuring Justin Timberlake) — "ICU (Remix)"
The "ICU (Remix)" takes the top spot, primarily because it was a modern-day R&B culture reset. Fans raved about Coco's dreamy vocals on the original song, so when she teamed up with music veteran Justin Timberlake, music lovers were both intrigued and pleasantly surprised. The duo did not disappoint, of course.
"Simple" — Babyface & Coco Jones
There is something magical that happens when two vocal powerhouses team up. In this instance, Babyface, one of music's most renowned producers and artists, teamed up with Coco Jones for "Simple."
Everything from the flow of the song to the music video was memorable for listeners. Not many artists make music like this anymore, so this collaboration is definitely a breath of fresh air.
Babyface was also one of the brilliant producers behind her debut EP, What I Didn’t Tell You, which was an instant fan favorite.
"Tummy Hurts (Remix)" — Coco Jones & Reneé Rapp
Coco recently shared with Business Insider that her journey from Disney star to singer felt like déjà vu.
"This version of me is the most 'artist,' the most authentic version of me that I've ever been. So it's more déjà vu to be here and to do certain things that I've done before, like press runs, touring, filming — all of these things feel so second nature, like home."
In the "Tummy Hurts" remix, she proved that performing is second nature, and everything from her range to delivery is top-tier.
"Make It Easy" — Adekunle Gold (featuring Coco Jones)
Coco Jones showcased her versatility when she collaborated with Nigeria's Adekunle Gold for "Make It Easy," a beautiful and soulful blend of Afrobeat and R&B. And it was a whole vibe.
The two artists played off of each other's musical energy and the synergy in the lyrics is yet another reason why music is a universal language that transcends cultural boundaries.
We can't wait to see what other collaborations Coco has in the stash, but we do know that it's going to be worth a listen — with no skips.
