In 2021, Gotti took a leap of faith and invested $173 million in the well-known DMV professional soccer club, D.C. United. The deal saw the Memphis native take ownership of a small percentage of the soccer club.

In a conversation with The Athletic, he told the outlet that his background made his investment in the club even more meaningful.

"I think coming from where I come from as a kid, to be considered the inner-city hoods, and to be able to go into entrepreneurship and even have the opportunity to be involved in such a big thing, such a great thing," Gotti said.

The rapper added: "It’s almost like a dream come true for a kid that comes from where I come from."

In a VIBE interview, he reflected on his earlier days and pointed out that always believing in himself and his work ethic ultimately got him to his destination.

"I ain’t pull up and ask nobody for nothing, I ain’t pay nobody nothing. I was just making music, living my life, and the s--t was real," he added.
