The Breakdown: Atlanta police have linked Lil Baby’s 2024 music video shooting to a gang conflict that led to the deaths of two 13-year-old boys. Homicide Commander Maj. Ralph Woolfolk claimed the rapper’s presence escalated tensions, resulting in fatal violence. However, Lil Baby denies any gang affiliation or involvement in the crime.
In May 2024, a music video shoot involving Atlanta rapper Lil Baby was disrupted by gunfire, resulting in injuries to three people. The incident occurred near a commercial area in Atlanta, with victims sustaining wounds to the chest, arm, and neck. However, all were expected to recover. Lil Baby was unharmed, and the injured were not initially believed to be affiliated with his production team.
In February 2025, Atlanta police alleged that the 2024 shooting sparked a gang conflict, culminating in the tragic deaths of two 13-year-old teenagers. Police have since suggested that Lil Baby’s presence exacerbated tensions between two rival gangs. However, Lil Baby denies any involvement with the crime.
Here is a breakdown of the drama surrounding Lil Baby’s music video shooting.
Police blame Lil Baby for teen deaths after shooting a music video in Atlanta.
Atlanta Police Homicide Commander Maj. Ralph Woolfolk has made a bold claim against Lil Baby. Days after the shooting at Lil Baby’s music video set, teens Jakody Davis and Lamon Freeman were fatally shot. Woolfolk suggests that the rapper’s 2024 music video shoot prompted the wave of gang violence that resulted in the deaths.

“Lamon Freeman was allowed to be a teenager for 27 minutes before gang violence ultimately took his life, gang violence that was orchestrated by adults and cowardly acts of an Atlanta-based rapper,” Woolfolk said at a press conference, adding, “And in the subsequent days, we saw homicides and shootings and ultimately the deaths of two children as a result of his cowardly actions.” Officers further claimed that the rapper is affiliated with the 4PF gang – also known as Four Pockets Full.
Lil Baby and his team have responded to the remarks made by Atlanta police, denying any connection with the deaths of the two teenagers. “To say that he couldn’t shoot a music video in his hometown, a place that he loves and has continued to uplift, is disgraceful,” Drew Findling and Marissa Goldberg, said in a statement to FOX 5 Atlanta. Adding, “Dominique is devastated about the situation because those children came from the same neighborhood he did.”
Is Lil Baby in a gang?
Atlanta Police have suggested that Lil Baby is associated with the 4PF gang. However, the rapper has called the remarks “fake news.” “Thanks for all the concerns, please don’t be misinformed by fake news! I’m over good,” he wrote on Instagram (per FOX 5 Atlanta).
The rapper, born Dominique Armani Jones, has faced gang allegations since the start of his career. Lil Baby's upbringing in the Oakland City neighborhood exposed him to the challenges of urban life. He dropped out of Booker T. Washington High School in ninth grade and became involved in drug dealing, leading to multiple arrests between 2012 and 2014. However, Lil Baby has denied any criminal affiliation since launching his music career.
