Just days after helping the Las Vegas Aces secure their third WNBA championship in four years, star guard Jackie Young traded in her jersey for an apron as she surprised fans by working a celebratory shift at Raising Cane’s on the Las Vegas Strip.
Young, a three-time WNBA Champion, All-Star and Olympic gold medalist, showed up at the popular chicken chain’s Las Vegas flagship location Monday to thank fans for their support during the team’s championship run. The Aces clinched their latest title in dominant fashion with a 97–86 win over the Phoenix Mercury, completing a 4–0 sweep in the WNBA Finals.
Known as the “Silent Assassin” for her steady composure and clutch scoring, Young was all smiles as she jumped behind the counter to serve Raising Cane’s Chicken Finger meals, greet ecstatic fans, and even work in the kitchen alongside the Cane’s Crew.

“The season started out pretty rough… being .500 and then getting beat by 53 points, to then being able to string together 17 wins in a row,” Young said during a press conference held at the restaurant. “You think about just getting one championship and sometimes it takes your whole career, but now Aces basketball is the standard.”
Young reflected on the Aces' demanding season, crediting teamwork and resilience for the franchise’s continued dominance. She also spoke about being a role model for young girls who look up to women athletes.
“Pressure is a privilege. It means things matter,” she said. “If I can be that person little girls look up to, then I’m doing something right.”
The championship celebration also came with some personal flavor. Young revealed her go-to Raising Cane’s order: “I usually get a Box Combo… sometimes a Caniac Combo if I’m really hungry. And I need extra Cane’s Sauce — like three of them. I’m a big dipper.”

During her shift, Young FaceTimed Raising Cane’s founder and CEO Todd Graves, who congratulated her on the championship win.
“It was great having Jackie out here to celebrate the Aces’ third WNBA Championship title,” Graves said. “I’ve been a supporter of women’s sports for years and it’s exciting to see the WNBA continue to grow.”
Between serving meals, posing for photos, and leading “Let’s go Aces!” chants with fans, Young brought championship energy to the Strip, turning a simple shift into a slam dunk celebration for the city. With another ring and another historic season in the books, Young says she’s already thinking about the next challenge, but first, she’s enjoying the moment. And maybe another Box Combo.
