You might not recognize him yet, but Mandla Morris is on his way.
Mandla’s father is music icon Stevie Wonder, who welcomed Mandla with his second wife, Kai Millard Morris.
At just 14 years old, he had a cameo in A Star Is Born — and appeared on Dancing With the Stars: Juniors in 2018. Fast forward, and Mandla is also making waves for his style.
Here is a breakdown of his fashion evolution.
Mandla Morris Was Featured in a Fashion Campaign for Uggs
In 2019, Mandla was featured in an ad campaign for Uggs alongside model Slick Woods. His love of fashion was inspired by his mother, who has a clothing line called Kai Milla.
Kai is a force in the fashion world herself, having designed clothing for Michelle Obama, Rihanna, and Kamala Harris. Mandla was also featured on the cover of ODDA magazine in July 2020 alongside his dad and his brother, Kailand Morris.
Mandla Is Inspired by Black Designers Virgil Abloh and Pyer Moss
In an interview with The New York Times, Mandla referenced Virgil Abloh and Pyer Moss as his favorite designers. He went on to describe his clothing as “high-end streetwear,” and even shared that Dior designer Kim Jones “really liked,” his flared trousers with side zippers design.
Mandla Loves Fashion — But Loves Music Even More
While Mandla has inherited his mom’s fashion sense, he is also interested in pursuing music, just like his famous father. “Music has always been there for me," he told Paper magazine in 2020. "Watching my dad play the piano at home, or seeing him on tour or in the studio. I've always had a love for it."
On Instagram, Mandla has shared several photos from inside the recording studio and seems to be determined to combine his love for fashion and music.
“I love listening to soul. I love listening to hip-hop," he continued. "But in order to really know your music, you have to study not just what you like but different genres, as well.”
