Why This Baja Resort From Bravo’s Love Hotel Is One of Mexico’s Sexiest Stays
As seen on Bravo’s Love Hotel—Grand Velas Boutique Los Cabos is a low-key, design-forward all-inclusive that redefines romantic travel. Private plunge pools, Michelin-level dining, epic ocean views.

Some hotels feel cinematic. Grand Velas Boutique Los Cabos, perched above a gorgeous stretch of Baja coastline, has that energy—the kind where every corner looks like a still from a dream vacation. No surprise, then, that this 79-suite resort was chosen as the backdrop for Bravo’s Love Hotel, which aired earlier this year.
Even with the cameras long gone, the property still hums with a heightened sense of possibility. It’s romantic without being cliché, luxe without trying too hard. There are no foam parties or all-you-can-drink chaos here—just couples soaking in Pacific views from private plunge pools, lingering over tasting menus, and wandering under cascades of bougainvillea.
All-inclusive, but elevated

Forget everything you think you know about all-inclusive dining. Grand Velas Boutique Los Cabos trades buffet lines for something far more refined. As the sister property to the larger Grand Velas Los Cabos, the boutique version leans into quiet luxury, serving fine-dining-level meals, craft cocktails, and thoughtful extras, all included.
Breakfast at Del Mar was refreshingly low-key: think custom quesadillas, an edited buffet, and fresh juice shots from 51 Bar to kickstart the day. At lunch, I kept finding excuses to return to Roca, where the shrimp tacos and tuna tostadas were light, flavorful, and perfect for eating barefoot by the pool.
Dinner at Loto, the robata-style restaurant led by Michelin-starred chef Sidney Schutte, was the standout. I built my own tartar cones with spicy tuna and pickled vegetables, followed by sesame-crusted crispy tuna and truffle beef with avocado. Each dish felt polished without being pretentious.

Rooms with star power
During filming, the Love Hotel cast stayed in the boutique’s King Class Suites, which offer more than a bit of star power of their own. Mine came with a deep soaking tub, a private plunge pool on the terrace, and a stocked bar complete with artisanal mezcal and hand-blown glassware.
The bathroom setup was a wellness junkie’s dream: a Vitamin C-filtered rain shower, plus a Dyson hair dryer and straightener setup that I quickly became obsessed with. The overall vibe? “You’ve officially made it.”
Design-forward, with a sense of place
The TV drama may have centered on interpersonal tension, but the real star here is the setting. The hotel’s design plays with layers and light: sculptural furniture in creamy neutrals, leafy palms swaying in the breeze, and vivid bursts of bougainvillea climbing the walls. It’s a visual feast without feeling try-hard.
Everything here is designed for slowing down, whether you’re capturing the golden hour by the infinity pool or simply breathing in the salty desert air.
A spa worth pausing for
Guests at the boutique resort have access to the 35,000-square-foot SE Spa at the flagship Grand Velas, named one of the top luxury spas in Los Cabos. The seven-step water ceremony, included with every treatment, is worth scheduling time around: it’s a guided circuit of saunas, steam rooms, ice plunges, and hydrotherapy pools designed to reset your nervous system.
Signature treatments draw from the local landscape, and a spa valet guides you through the experience like a personal wellness concierge. There’s also a “Spa Atelier” offering workshops on topics like aromatherapy and couples massage, if you’re in the mood to learn while you lounge.
Set-jetting meets slow travel
For Bravo fans, this is the rare kind of set-jetting experience where you can actually stay in the suite from the show, eat the dishes you saw on-screen, and order that same mezcal cocktail by the firepit.
But Grand Velas Boutique doesn’t define itself by the series. It just happens to be a perfect match for the format—seductive, intimate, and visually stunning.
Even if you’ve never seen an episode, the appeal is obvious.
This is a couple’s getaway that ditches the stuffy programming in favor of real connection. It’s a place to wake up slowly, watch the sunrise from the pool, and spend long afternoons doing absolutely nothing—together.

Michelin-starred dining next door
If you’re tempted to explore beyond the boutique property, you don’t have to go far. Guests have full access to the neighboring Grand Velas Los Cabos, home to Cocina de Autor, the only Michelin-starred restaurant at any all-inclusive in Los Cabos. In fact, Velas Resorts is the only all-inclusive brand in the world with two Michelin-starred restaurants (the second is at their Riviera Maya property).
At Cocina de Autor, chefs Sidney Schutte and Francisco Sixtos serve a multi-course tasting menu that blends Baja terroir with elegant European technique. One of my favorite courses was the yellow corn velouté with shiitake mushrooms, pecan, and jicama—earthy, warming, and just the right amount of indulgent. Another standout: huitlacoche paired with organic celeriac, mushroom XO, and smoked beurre blanc.

Why Bravo fans and design lovers are both booking this Baja escape
Grand Velas Boutique Los Cabos may have gained new visibility thanks to Love Hotel, but the reality is, it doesn’t need a TV boost to stand out. With its sculptural architecture, Michelin-level dining, and genuinely thoughtful service, the resort offers an all-inclusive experience that feels tailored, not templated.
Yes, it’s photogenic enough to light up your feed. But more importantly, it’s the kind of place that gets under your skin—the one you’re still thinking about when you get home, already plotting your return.
