Twenties is BET’s latest project to hit the small screen – written to, from, and for Black women. A semi-autobiographical series created by Lena Waithe, Twenties is a light play on Waithe’s younger life. The plot follows a queer named Hattie (a character inspired by Waithe) and her two straight friends, Nia and Marie, in their twenties. The three chase their dreams in the city of Los Angeles with a comedic struggle to figure out life, love, and their professional careers.Twenties’ success relies on the script.
