In addition to being a hitmaking musician, 2 Chainz is an avid businessman. From upscale restaurants to cannabis products and tech investments, 2 Chainz has built an impressive portfolio that extends far beyond his musical talents. Here’s a closer look at some of his key business ventures.
2 Chainz launched his cannabis ventures — GAS Cannabis Co. — in 2018.
2 Chainz hopped on the cannabis trend early, starting his GAS Cannabis Company in 2018. Per Forbes, the brand offers a variety of cannabis products, including flower, pre-rolls, and concentrates. The rapper’s venture into the cannabis market is not just about capitalizing on a trend; it reflects his long-standing advocacy for cannabis legalization and criminal justice reform related to drug offenses.
"Everything I do has to be authentic, a natural fit," 2 Chainz told Forbes. "It's just like my other ventures — merchandise, restaurants, real estate — these are all things I love."
The rapper also acknowledges the disproportionate marijuana arrests that largely impact Black Americans, adding, "It's really important that us African-American entrepreneurs empower others to get involved in the business and flip the switch."
2 Chainz's made a major investment in the Smoothie King franchise.
2 Chainz has also dipped his toes into the food world, purchasing a Smoothie King location. Through this investment, he aims to bring more nutritious options to communities, especially focusing on underserved areas that often lack access to healthy food choices. Smoothie King, famous for its wide variety of smoothies catering to different dietary needs, aligns with the rapper’s goal to encourage healthier lifestyles.
“I visit Smoothie King at least twice a week, so this partnership has been a long time coming," 2 Chainz said in a statement to Nation’s Restaurant News. "Throughout my health journey, I've been mindful of my choices, and when I go to games and events it's no different.”
2 Chainz dived into reality TV with his 'Most Expensivest' series on Viceland.
2 Chainz has also made a mark in the media world with his hit show, Most Expensivest, on Viceland. The show explores some of the world’s most extravagant and luxurious items, from diamond-encrusted water bottles to gold-plated skateboards. The series showcases 2 Chainz’s charismatic personality and also his interest in the finer things in life. It has become a popular series among viewers who want a glimpse into the rapper’s world.
2 Chainz's True Religion collaboration was years in the making.
In 2011, 2 Chainz dropped a mixtape titled T.R.U. Religion, clearly indicating that he was a fan of the brand. Years later, he was named creative director for the True Religion brand and tasked with creating a collection for the streetwear giant. Per Complex, 2 Chainz’s collection featured imagery from the rapper’s discography and was available in select stores across America.
2 Chainz's got into the food industry with EscoBar Restaurant and Tapas.
One of 2 Chainz’s most notable business ventures is EscoBar Restaurant & Tapas, a dining spot in Atlanta. Launched in partnership with Snoop Dillard, the restaurant offers a fusion of Southern comfort food and international cuisine. The establishment is named after the infamous Colombian drug lord, Pablo Escobar, and attracts locals and tourists alike.
According to Vibe, the success of the original EscoBar Restaurant led to the rapper opening several additional locations.
