Dame Dash’s Financial Situation Is Spiraling Fast — Reports Prove His Net Worth Is on the Decline

Despite being a former Roc-A-Fella executive, Damon “Dame” Dash says that he is broke.

The hip-hop icon made the claim during an appearance on Dr. Taje Moreno’s The CEO Show, declaring that his net worth has dropped significantly since the 90s.

Dame’s claims may be puzzling to some because he was the co-founder of Roc-A-Fella records alongside industry bigwigs Jay-Z and Kareem "Biggs" Burke.

However, Dame’s journey has been marked by both triumphs and challenges. A rift between him and Jay-Z combined with several unsuccessful business ventures left the former executive in financial turmoil.

Dame’s initial success sprouted from the iconic Roc-A-Fella Records, a label that played a pivotal role in shaping the landscape of hip-hop.

The popularity of artists like Kanye West and Cam'ron under the Roc-A-Fella banner undoubtedly contributed to Dame’s fortune. The label also produced films like Paid In Full and State Property while also manning the Rocawear clothing line.

But the former music executive has since hit a financial roadblock and his net worth is proof of this. According to Celebrity Net Worth, Dame is worth $100,000.

Lawsuits, tax evasion, and the sale of his stake in Rocawear severely impacted Dame’s earning potential and more than likely contributed to his current financial situation.

The hip-hop head was also hit with a $4 million tax lien in 2015 after failing to pay taxes for four years.

In documents filed on January 9, the music producer suggested that his earnings were less than what was being reported.

In the court filing, obtained by TMZ, Dame asked a judge to lower his child support payments to $428 a month, as he can no longer afford to pay $3,000 a month.

Dame went on to claim that he only made $5,140 in 2022 as his business ventures were failing. Though, the hip-hop legend's ex-wife does not believe his claims.

From 2005 to 2009, Dame was married to fashion designer Rachel Roy. During their time together, the pair welcomed two children – Ava Dash and Tallulah Dash.

While it’s unclear what caused their split, the couple were enthralled in a messy legal battle amid their divorce. In 2015, Rachel was awarded sole physical custody of the couple’s daughters and she was also granted a three-year restraining order against her ex-husband.

Dame was arrested in 2019 after he failed to pay child support to Rachel or the mother of his son Lucky, Cindy Morales. According to Page Six, at the time, the former music executive owed more than $400,000 to his former partners.

Dame shot down claims that he was a deadbeat dad, instead suggesting that his exes were simply money-hungry.

“They’re pieces of dog s--t because they put money before family values,” he said. “I’m very disappointed in Rachel in not caring about her children, relationship with her children, before bread. It’s all been about money.”
