Jim and Chrissy’s relationship began in 2004 after a chance meeting in a Miami lounge. In an interview with Global Grind TV, Jim said Chrissy was “sweating” him for his number. However, Chrissy insists the two were familiar with each other before their South Beach encounter.
2011: ‘Love & Hip Hop’ introduces Jim and Chrissy to a national audience.

Little is known about Jim and Chrissy’s relationship between their 2004 meeting and their time on Love & Hip Hop. But when the show premiered in 2011, the pair were thicker than thieves, and their relationship was going strong.
At the end of the first season, Chrissy decided to take things to the next level by asking Jim to marry her. The moment left Jim stunned, but the “We Fly High” rapper accepted her proposal.

Jim and Chrissy returned to Love & Hip for Season 10 with a new outlook on life. They later suggested that they were no longer looking to get married but insisted that their relationship was stronger than ever.
“To be honest with you, it’s not a priority anymore,” said Lampkin. “Our relationship is in a good place. I thought that [marriage] was the natural progression, but it’s not for everybody. So, we’re good right now.”
2024: Jim celebrates Chrissy’s birthday, but fans wonder why they still aren’t married.
On April 28, Chrissy celebrated her 53rd birthday alongside her longtime beau. Videos of Chrissy’s celebration were shared online, and people quickly began sharing their opinions.
“She really wasted her youth on this guy,” one person wrote, while another added, “Before yall start, they relationship lasting longer than married [people.]”
