Actor Michael B Jordan is known for his lean physique, which he works hard to maintain. To create his sculpted figure, Michael followed a rigorous workout routine that combined strength training, cardio, and dedication. The Creed star opened up about his fitness journey during a conversation with PEOPLE, explaining that failure has been his biggest motivating factor.
“For me it's always been the fear of failure,” Michael explained. “The fear of showing up and being on set and not being in shape. Because a lot of people, if they don't meet their goals, nobody knows about it.”

In January, Michael sat down with GQ to discuss his passion for health and fitness and explained to the publication why he places an emphasis on his appearance.
“I think at the end of the day, health and wellness is the root of longevity and our productivity,” he said. “How we treat our bodies and our minds determines how effective we are going to be and how positive we are going to be.”
Michael went on to reveal that he was inspired to change his eating habits after high school, after spending years as a “super skinny” teenager.
His journey to peak physical fitness started slow. Michael started off with a lot of bodyweight exercises. Push-ups and sit-ups were his go-to movements, but he eventually hired a trainer to help elevate his workout game.
The Fruitville Station actor further explained that a consistent workout routine based on his personal fitness goals, water consumption, and a regular sleep schedule has been imperative to maintain his physique. Michael also suggests using a variety of supplements to help achieve your fitness goals.
The entertainer shared some healthy eating tips, too. Michael advocates for a raw diet as processed foods do not have the same nutritional value.

Propel, in partnership with the Oscar-nominated actor, launched the Propel Your City project in July 2023. The initiative aims to amplify health and fitness initiatives in communities across the U.S., through education, awareness, and access.
“One of the big things about this partnership that I really enjoyed was that it didn't feel like a one-size-fits-all type of program,” Michael told BET. “Everybody doesn't have one fitness goal in mind. It looks different for different people and different places.”
Propel has committed to providing funding to community-based organizations that advocate for healthy living. Groups like WalkGood LA and Detroit’s The Trap Studio were among the first to receive resources under Michael’s Propel partnership.
