“It’s one of my proudest projects in terms of writing and artistic vision,” Chance said. “There’s an immense amount of work to be done with it. But it’s cool ’cause I feel like the love and intentionality that goes into making each physical art piece allows me to show people in these museum spaces what I’m working on.”

The follow-up to Chance the Rapper’s 2019 record The Big Day is expected to drop in Spring 2024. Chance previously took to Instagram Live to share the update about the album, titled Star Line Gallery.

“My album’s coming out next spring,” Chance yelled in the December 2023 session, adding, “It’s cool, there are only 500 people in here. No one logs on when I’m doing good work, for real!”

The news sent the rapper’s fans into a frenzy, as they took to social media to share their excitement.

“This will be a massive album,” one person tweeted, while another wrote, “This is either going to be the greatest comeback ever or the nail in the coffin. He better come correct.”

And while fans have tried to dissect hints about when the project will drop, that information is not available. Chance has not revealed an official release date for Star Line Gallery, but fans should expect the album before Summer 2024.

Chance the Rapper has promised that Star Line Gallery will be one of his most important albums ever. During an interview on Sway’s Universe, Chance shared his admiration for Marcus Garvey, noting his influence during the early 1900s as the inspiration behind Star Line Gallery.

“[Marcus Garvey] started and ran this very important, integral shipping line,” Chance explained. “When I think about the Black Star Line and all the spaces that it’s been in, the Black Star is the representation of Ghana, in their flag, in the fabric of how their country was set up.”

While Chance has settled on a name for the LP, he has yet to reveal details about the album’s tracklist. However, fans should expect Star Line Gallery to include the song “Yah Know,” which was released in November 2022.
