When Lil Uzi Vert took the stage at Coachella 2024, fans expected an electrifying performance. But for those unfamiliar with the Philadelphia-born rapper, their outfit may have shocked some. Uzi (who uses them/their pronouns) has consistently pushed the boundaries of fashion with their jaw-dropping red-carpet appearances and eccentric stage attire.
During an interview with GQ, the “Just Wanna Rock” rapper explained that he wants to focus more on fashion and spend less time making music.
“Honestly, in my heart, I think I do this better than music,” he told the publication. “'Cause the music s--t is effortless. I actually take my time with this.”

Uzi stole the show at the 2022 Met Gala.
One of his most recent appearances at the 2022 Met Gala left spectators in awe as he donned an eye-catching ensemble. He rocked a black silk jacket, black cropped trousers and raw-edge skirt. The outfit seamlessly blended haute couture with his signature avant-garde style, and it matched the event’s Gilded Glamour theme.

During Weekend 2 of Coachella 2024, Uzi took the stage in a head-turning ensemble that included a custom-designed leather jacket, matching pants, and a pair of statement-making boots. The outfit quickly became the talk of social media, with fans and fashion enthusiasts praising Uzi’s style. “Sexy is back,” one fan commented, under a clip of Uzi’s performance. Another added: “Watching Coachella [right now], and Uzi is such a star. Love watching everyone dance during his set.”

One of Uzi’s earlier fashion moments came in 2017. The rapper was spotted with a form-fitting stripped t-shirt from French clothing brand Faith Connexion. According to XXL, the t-shirt was available at Barney’s New York for $410, but hip-hops weren’t in a rush to cop the expensive garment. Rappers like Waka Flocka joined social media users who were dragging Uzi and suggesting that he should not be considered a hip-hop artist (via Atlanta Black Star).

Uzi’s outfit at the 2023 GRAMMYs was a testament to his unapologetic style. He sported a tailored Comme des Garçons suit paired with a Richard Mille watch and oversized Balenciaga shoes. Uzi complimented his GRAMMYs look with an attention-grabbing spiked hairdo and a diamond-crusted choker.
On the red carpet, Uzi explained that the ensemble came together last minute as he had no intention of rocking spiked hair at the annual event.

Uzi is a huge fan of Thom Browne and regularly shops at the designer’s flagship store. In 2022, Uzi was spotted leaving the Tribeca retailer decked out in a shrunken Thom Browne suit and puffy ski boots. Uzi complimented the look with a helmet similar to the ones worn by Daft Punk. However, Uzi’s helmet was pink and featured glowing cat ears.
