Celebrities have been at the center of rivalries for years, but few have been as public and intense as the rift between Pusha T and Drake.
This hip-hop feud shocked (and entertained) fans, revealing personal secrets and sparking a firestorm of diss tracks and social media drama.
So, what started Drake and Pusha T's beef, and where does their relationship stand today? Keep reading to find out!
Drake and Pusha T's feud started in 2018 when Pusha accused the Canadian rapper of using a ghostwriter.
The Pusha T and Drake beef, which began simmering beneath the surface for years, specifically as far back as 2011, finally erupted in 2018, with the release of Pusha's song "Infrared," which was produced by Kanye West.
This led to an exchange of disses, with Drake dropping his diss track "Duppy Style," where he called out Pusha's then-fiancée Virginia Williams. As expected, Pusha retaliated.
Pusha T went on to reveal that Drake had a "secret" son named Adonis.
The feud took a drastic turn when Pusha T released "The Story of Adidon," a blistering diss track that exposed Drake's most closely guarded secret.
The song sampled Jay-Z's "The Story of O.J," and on the track, Pusha revealed that Drake had fathered a child named Adonis with French artist Sophie Brussaux — a fact that Drake had kept hidden from the public up until that point.
This revelation sent shockwaves through social media, and Drake was forced to respond yet again.
Drake confirmed that he did have a son, and their beef reached its peak.
Drake's response to the revelation was relatively muted, as he admitted having a son on his album "Scorpion."
The Canadian MC rapped, "I wasn't hiding my kid from the world, I was hiding the world from my kid / From empty souls who just wake up and look to debate / Until you staring at your seed, you could never relate."
However, the damage had already been done, and the feud between the two rappers had reached a fever pitch.
So, won the Pusha T and Drake beef?
A lot of fans were fascinated by the beef and quickly wanted to declare a "winner." Some people will say that it is challenging to declare a clear winner in the Pusha T and Drake beef because it depends on one's perspective.
From a lyrical standpoint, both artists delivered some memorable lines and jabs. Pusha T's "The Story of Adidon" was a brutally effective diss track, while Drake's response on "Emotionless" showcased his signature wordplay and flow.
In many ways, the battle between them was more than just a war of words; it was a clash of egos and reputations. In terms of public perception, Pusha T was widely praised for exposing Drake's secret, while some fans accused Drake of crossing a line with his diss tracks.
On an artist level, I didn’t look at it so crazy because it wasn’t like I just beat The LOX in a rap battle or I just beat [JAY-Z] in a rap battle or some s-t,” Pusha said on the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast in 2022 when asked about "beating" Drake. "
No, Drake and Pusha T are not friends.
Since the peak of their feud in 2018, Pusha T and Drake have not engaged in a direct exchange of diss tracks. Instead, they seem to have taken a more subtle approach to their rivalry.
In 2019, though, Drake notably told Rap Radar he had "no desire" to ever mend things with Pusha-T.
Pusha seemed to share the same sentiment in a 2022 interview on Drink Champs, adding, "I know exactly what my lane is. I know exactly what I’m doing, I know exactly who I want to be with, who I want to make records with. There’s absolutely no value in that for me."
