Super producer DJ Khaled’s former Florida mansion is up for sale. The home played a key part in helping to revitalize the musician’s career, as it was regularly featured on his social media channels.
Khaled has been around since the 1990s after breaking into the music business as a radio personality. He later transitioned into DJing, and then he became a full-time hip-hop producer. In addition to his bustling music career, Khaled is also a social media star.
He first built a loyal following on Snapchat, sharing hilarious clips from his outlandish adventures – most of which were filmed in his Florida mansion.
However, the “We the Best” artist is now selling the property after spending nearly a decade in the Sunshine State. For those wondering why Khaled is selling his mansion, here is the truth.
Why is DJ Khaled selling his mansion in South Florida?
In 2020, DJ Khaled sold his Miami-area mansion for $4.8 million after owning the home for five years. The Aventura mansion features six bedrooms and seven bathrooms and comes with multiple 14K gold and crystal chandeliers.
Khaled’s impact is also felt throughout the home – which boasts a movie theater and a custom shoe closet where the DJ housed his extensive sneaker collection.
The home was purchased by Nahim Jorge Bonilla and Melissa Granda, of Ruido Callejero Music and Mandrake Miami, but they are now looking to resell the property.
According to the New York Post, Khaled purchased the home for $3.84 million back in 2015. He then spent over $2.5 million renovating the home, which now holds a movie theatre, pool, and 30-foot-high ceilings.
Additionally, most of the furniture and aesthetic changes that Khaled made are still in the home. The producer’s sneaker closet remains nestled next to the main bedroom, and his famed outdoor patio remains in place.
Nahim and Melissa have not yet revealed a reason for selling the home.
DJ Khaled has a new Miami mansion!
After selling his Island Estates property, DJ Khaled purchased another mansion in Florida. Per Forbes, Khaled purchased a 12,750 square mansion on the Miami Beach waterfront in 2018. The home, that Khaled nabbed for $25.9 million, is packed with over-the-top amenities.
It includes a multi-level gazebo, an 80-foot-long pool, and nine bedrooms. The property was designed by famed architect, Cesar Molina, and has a modern and minimalist layout.
And while Khaled has seemingly retired from his partying ways, after becoming a father in 2016, the home can also double as an entertainment space.
The two-level gazebo has a full kitchen and bar. Plus, the property has 10-and-a-half bathrooms and a massive fireplace.
Khaled appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show in 2020 and gave the American Idol alum an exclusive backyard tour of his luxurious home.
“I have a piece of art that Mr. Brainwash gave me. Just to remind me every day that life is beautiful,” Khaled said. “I love flowers and I love landscaping. They’re special to me.”
