The Breakdown: Rappers Yella Beezy and Mo3 had a long-running beef that fueled tension in the city’s hip-hop scene. However, things took a more serious turn when Mo3 was fatally shot in 2020.

What started as a rap dispute between two of Dallas’ biggest rising stars turned deadly — and now, one of them is booked. Yella Beezy, born Markies Deandre Conway, has been arrested and charged with capital murder for allegedly orchestrating the 2020 killing of fellow rapper Mo3, whose real name was Melvin Noble.

Their feud had been brewing for years. Though both artists publicly downplayed the drama, fans, and locals knew the tension was real. Diss tracks flew back and forth, and social media only fanned the flames. Mo3 once addressed the rumored feud in a 2019 interview with VladTV, saying, “It was nothing.” Yella Beezy also tried to downplay the beef, saying, “I don’t know him” when asked about Mo3.
