Rapper Kendrick Lamar is gearing up to drop a new album, following his beef with Drake.

The feud between the two went to another level in 2024, with a series of diss tracks and shady tweets exacerbating the rift between the two. The Drake and Kendrick conflict reignited following the release of Drake and J. Cole’s “Third Person Shooter,” where Cole made a reference to K-Dot being in the “Big 3.”

And while the lyrics, “Is it K-Dot? Is it Aubrey? Or me? We the big three like we started a league,” were meant as a compliment, Kendrick took issue with it.

The song set off a hip-hop firestorm that has become known as one of the biggest rap feuds in recent history.

Kendrick and Drake went on to release a series of songs aimed at the other, with Kendrick’s “Not Like Us” solidifying his place as the victor.

The song debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming one of the biggest tracks of 2024. The success of the single left fans wanting more music from the Pulitzer Prize-winning rapper. Here’s what we know about Kendrick’s new music and his plans for an album.

Kendrick Lamar fans think a new album is coming soon.

There’s no doubt Kendrick Lamar had a big year. Following the success of “Not Like Us,” the Los Angeles native has not slowed down.

In September, he dropped a new single titled “Watch the Party Die,” and fans ate it up.

On the track, Kendrick suggests that the beef with Drake was still brewing, despite his apparent victory. “Just walked that man down, that’ll do everyone a solid / It’s love but tough love, sometimes you gotta result in violence,” Kendrick raps.

And while there’s no news about Kendrick’s album, he does have a big year planned.

K Dot has been selected to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime Show, taking place in New Orleans. The selection has caused some controversy, as some hip-hop fans believe that Lil Wayne should be headlining the show.

Super Bowl halftime producer Jesse Collins spoke to Variety about the backlash and emphasized that the decision is usually left in Jay-Z’s hands.

Drake appears to be gearing up for a comeback of his own.

Following the feud with Kendrick, Drake stepped away from the spotlight. He returned a few months after the fallout, with a slate of new singles. In August, he released three new songs featuring 21 Savage, Young Thug, and Latto.

Drake did not explicitly mention Kendrick in the songs. However, 21 appeared to throw jabs at Kendrick on the song “It’s Up.” He raps, “Made a couple songs, think he hot now/ Hit his a-- up, he think he Pac now.”
