2024 had a ton of amazing albums in store for us, and 2025 is bringing us even more. From Aminé to Lil Wayne, we have details on the year’s hottest drops.

The Breakdown: 2024 was a fantastic year in hip-hop, and 2025 has fed us well so far. We’ll be detailing the most anticipated albums for the remainder of the year.
2024 gave us the most memorable rap beef in history. The feud led by Kendrick Lamar and Drake provided fans with a flurry of diss tracks and a record-breaking album from the GNX rapper. Heading into 2025, the Canadian entertainer came in hot with a No. 1 album debut for his collaborative project $ome $exy $ongs 4 U.

While the ‘Battle of the Big 3’ allowed fans to hear new music from Kendrick, Drake, and J. Cole, the year had so much more to offer. Tyler, the Creator dropped his jaw-dropping CHROMAKOPIA, ScHoolboy Q reintroduced himself on Blue Lips, and Glorilla set the scene ablaze with her debut studio album Glorious. The duo of Metro Boomin and Future dominated the streets heading into the summer with We Don’t Trust You and We Still Don’t Trust You.
Doechii proved to be the Princess of Rap with her first studio album, Alligator Bites Never Heal. Chief Keef, Don Toliver, Denzel Curry, Childish Gambino, and Gunna all dropped works that impressed the general hip-hop community. Wiz Khalifa – ‘Kush & Orange Juice 2’ (April 18th)
Kush & Orange Juice 2 was announced to drop on April 18th by NFR Podcast. The album’s predecessor has been marked as one of the greatest mixtapes of all time. Kush & Orange Juice is critically acclaimed, and the sequel has been on fans’ minds for over a decade now.
The album is anticipated to have multiple notable features. Wiz shared a clip of a song with himself and Gunna. He was also seen in the studio with LaRussell. Other features that have been listed by Genius include Ty Dolla $ign, Curren$y, Terrace Martin, Juicy J, Larry June, and Smoke DZA.

Roddy Ricch – ‘THE NAVY ALBUM’ (April 25th)
Roddy Ricch has had an interesting career. The Compton rapper’s last album, Live Life Fast, received mixed reactions but debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200. His debut album, Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial, debuted at No. 1 and has since received a double-platinum RIAA certification.
After setting the world ablaze with his hit single “The Box,” Roddy went on a killing spree. Besides the pandemic-driven track going diamond, he’s received over 15 platinum certifications from solo tracks and features. The rapper was last seen as a feature for 'dodger blue' on Kendrick Lamar's GNX album before releasing his leading single 'Lonely Road' with Terrace Martin.

Key Glock – ‘Glockaveli’ (May 2nd)
Key Glock confirmed the release of his new project, Glockaveli, on March 13th. This marks his fourth solo full-length studio album and will be released on May 2nd. Glockoma 2 was the rapper’s last release in 2023. The Memphis native has been on a tear since his debut with Yellow Tape.
He’s racked up plenty of platinum certifications, and his previous albums have been revered as staples of the new era of Memphis rap. Coming up in the industry with Young Dolph allowed the rapper to shine even brighter with chemistry over beats like no one else. The new album is expected to be another stop on his winning streak.

Lil Baby – ‘Dominique’ (May 2nd)
Lil Baby released WHAM in January 2025 and was met with varying criticism. Some claimed that the album would prove to be Album of the Year, while others saw the album as a downfall. Shortly after the album’s release, the rapper wrote in an Instagram post, “See yall again in a couple weeks 'Dominique: The Album' 2-?-25.”
Many inferred that the date at the end meant that the album would be released in February. Now, most are guessing that the “2” did not represent the month since it has passed. May 2nd is the newest inferred date for the album until Lil Baby confirms the release himself.

Aminé – ‘13 Months of Sunshine’ (May 16th)
Aminé announced the release of his third studio album, 13 Months of Sunshine, on March 27th. The album comes as his first solo release since his 2020 album Limbo. The Portland rapper also released the Kaytranada-collaborated project Kaytraminé in 2023.
Since his hit single “Caroline, " he's seen considerable commercial success. The rapper boasts five platinum-certified records and has had multiple successful tour runs. His new album, Familiar, was released after the release of his high-energy single and is named after a 2007 Ethiopian romance movie.

Lil Wayne – ‘Tha Carter VI’ (June 6th)
Lil Wayne officially announced the release date for his long-awaited album on April 1st. The announcement featured a clip of Weezy from the early days of his career stating, “I was put here for a reason.”
Tha Carter VI finally comes six years after the release of the Louisiana rapper’s last album. Tha Carter V was a hit and received a double-platinum certification from the RIAA. Tracks like “Mona Lisa,” “Uproar,” and “Dark Side of the Moon” quickly became fan favorites and showed that Wayne could still dominate the game.
